F.A.Q.

Questions that always come up.

I bring everything I need for balloon twisting services. I use a 6×6 foot space, generally needing shade and or rain. I bring a big menu board with many choices and my balloon cart and pumps. My balloon kit also includes a balloon trash can so I leave no mess.

For set up, I get the payment out of the way first. This takes a few minutes either via cash, check or Venmo, then about 1 minute to set up my balloon kit once you point me to the right spot. Breakdown also takes about a minute.

As my reserved time is coming to an end I look at the line and estimate how many guests I can accommodate in the time left. Then cut off my line to fill the rest of the time and not go over.
Often I do have other parties to get to and need to leave promptly at the end of the party. A closed line means I am out of time and can  only accommodate those in line. Adding more people to the end of the closed line could result in an overtime charge.

Feel free to announce that I am ready to make balloons. Generally the guests see me and start lining up before I even get ready. They are smart.

Usually I am already planning a smooth ending 15 minutes before the end of the party. Announcing I will be ending services during this time could end up occurring overtime. Generally once I start I have a group interested in balloons until I am done.

For all services we need shade, out of the rain, and about a 6×6 foot space to set up and some room for a line that won’t be in the way. I’ve got the rest.

Yes, I bring a big menu that has over 20 choices.

This depends on the request. Some designs may take longer than usual and reduce the amount of balloons I can make in an hour and reduce the amount of guests that can get a balloon.

If you would like adults to get balloons be sure to book additional time. Kids will get as many balloons as time allows.

I can promise that I can make 15 balloons in an hour.

You may want to leave time for guests to arrive if you know your people arrive late. It’s always helpful to me if you have an activity like cake or games when I am closing so the kids get a transition to a new activity.

I make balloons for the entire time I am booked. If there are less kids than expected or they are distracted I will help adults get balloons.

Balloons are for kids 3 years old and above. Younger children will need to have a parent or guardian with them if they’d like a balloon.

I do not dress up as a clown. I dress professionally in my company branded shirt and attire. If you would like a picture of my uniform please let me know.

I take payment before the services are rendered via cash, check and Venmo. I do not take a deposit for events 4 hours and under unless otherwise specified in advance.

A triple, tall latte, whole milk.

I do have a balloon apprentice that is available, while nobody is me (Joe) she is really great with kids and can make a great selection of balloons also.

No, I do know html, css, Javascript and python but that’s never helped me on a balloon job.

All my balloons are manufactured in North America (the 260s (straight ones)) are manufactured in Canada, round ones are made in Texas. Latex balloons are biodegradable and a sustainable resource. The tree that made the latex for my balloons today are possibly the same ones that provided latex for your balloons as a kid. They produce rubber for latex for about 50 years.

The Ramones or They Might be Giants.

Friend gave me a bike, it’s orange, and I learned to love the color.

When my daughter Kayla was 3 she asked me to buy us a balloon twisting kit at a toy store. Eventually a friend asked me to make balloons at his party and I was hooked. Now I do balloons full time and graphic design freelance.

I wouldn’t say I put on a show although people love to watch what I do. I make balloons for guests and keep them engaged in conversation talking about things that matter to them like (is a unicorn horn for getting through traffic?) and joke around with them

It’s probably my daughters fault because my favorite is always the unicorn.

I attend balloon twisting and kids entertainment conventions about twice a year. I am very much in touch with the world of balloon artists. I have balloon artist friends from Hamburg to Tokyo.

I have a business license for LA County and am insured for entertainment services.

If requested I will gladly wear a mask. If possible please let me know ahead of time so I can bring my own.

We put down drop cloth just in case but generally there is very little mess. Most being on fingers.

For spin art we need a 6x6ft spot that is within 15 feet of a power outlet. The power drawn by our set up is less than 2 hair dryers.

Glitter will get on the ground. That’s all you’d have to worry about.

It is very helpful if the customer can provide a table and two chairs, if this is not possible please let us know so we can bring our own.

Legend of Zelda Breath of the Wild. Best game ever.

With any party entertainment it’s always best to book too much time than to book too little time. If I have extra time I will make additional creations for the kids, and offer balloon creations for the adults. If there is not enough time I will try and streamline the balloons as best I can but generally on weekends there is not any room in my schedule to add time on the fly.

Your date and time are set once my contract is complete.

Yes, I always send a reminder email from joe@joespartyanimals.com 2 days before your party.
